Bettys & Taylors has a supply chain that spans the globe – from Yorkshire farmers who supply the ingredients for our Tea Rooms, to the estates and small holdings in the tropics that provide the tea and coffee for our blends. We see our suppliers as one of our most important stakeholders and we’re committed to strong, long-term ethical relationships with all our suppliers, based on quality and fair terms of trade.
Our tea and coffee buyers spend many months a year visiting estates, farms and co-operatives. By taking the time to work directly with growers we can ensure we’re buying the best quality and paying sustainable prices so that suppliers can continue to invest in their farms for the future. All our tea and coffee is third-party certified to monitor social and environmental standards, and we invest in projects and partnerships which work to improve the lives and communities of those we trade with. We’re honoured to have been recognised for our commitment to creating a sustainable tea and coffee supply chain with a 2017 Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
While tropical commodities form the backbone of our Taylors business, Bettys is committed to local sourcing and tapping into the rich food and farming heritage on our doorstep. Our dairy, meat, fish and poultry are all sourced from the Yorkshire region.
