To help support our ambitious plans, we are looking to recruit 4 Graduates to join Taylors of Harrogate in 2016’s Graduate cohort in the following roles;

  • Finance & Business Analysis
  • Marketing & Sales
  • Project Engineering & Manufacturing Operations
  • Technical Development

Our scheme offers graduates many exciting opportunities to be involved in collaboratively designed roles, to enable you to begin your development journey into becoming successful functional and technical experts of the future.

The structure of the scheme is designed to support your transition into our business, after an induction period you will commence a two year period doing a real job delivering key projects for the business.  The scheme will be split into designated placements which will give you exposure to relevant and adjacent disciplines, with opportunities for being involved and contributing to the businesses successful future.

You will have development opportunities which are second to none including skills workshops, leadership development and access to a dedicated 1:1 developer to ensure you achieve your full potential.  At the end of the scheme, it is expected that you will be well equipped for a permanent role within the business.

The Graduate Roles:

Finance & Business Analysis

This is an exciting opportunity for graduates who have a desire to work in the finance profession with a view to developing a broad range of financial and analytical skills and knowledge. The Finance & Business Analysis Graduate will undertake placements spanning across the Taylors finance team, covering; commercial, operational, core and sourcing.  Opportunities to be involved in business analysis/process related work will also develop as a core theme throughout this role, as we believe these skills and experience go hand in hand in to developing well rounded financial professionals in our business.

Our ideal graduate will be a naturally inquisitive, tenacious problem solver who is highly numerate and accurate. A passion for numbers and process is an absolute, alongside the ability to communicate at all levels and work in a naturally collaborative manner.

We expect our graduates to be highly driven and committed to their own personal and professional development; therefore graduates should aspire to achieving the professional CIMA qualifications as opportunities for technical and professional development will be available in this role.

Marketing & Sales

This is a unique opportunity for graduates who have a desire to establish a career within the Sales and Marketing profession with a view to developing a broad range of skills and experience in a cross functional way. The Marketing & Sales Graduate will undertake placements spanning; customer management, consumer/shopper insight, commercial finance, innovation, category management and brand management disciplines.

Our ideal graduate will have high levels of positivity and motivation, will be willing to learn and able to work both cross functionally and on an individual basis. This role will involve communicating directly with consumers and creating strong relationships internally, so it is essential the candidates have both good written and presentation skills and are able to communicate effectively at all levels. Successful candidates must be able to work well under pressure and time constraints, remaining calm and productive at busy times. A willingness to ‘pitch in’ is essential.

Graduates should aspire to achieving professional marketing qualifications. This role will include regular travel to various consumer/promotional sites and a wide range of marketing activities and projects.

Project Engineering & Manufacturing Operations

We constantly strive for our production, engineering and manufacturing operations to be best in class, which enables our fantastic range of quality products to be made to the highest standards. As part of this scheme we have a rare opportunity for a Project Engineering & Manufacturing Operations Graduate to join the Operations team, who wishes to progress to a career in this sector.

This will be a hybrid role that will cover all elements of manufacturing operations and as such, the successful graduate will complete placements across; production planning, core operations, site & project development and engineering whilst supporting some of the businesses key change and delivery projects throughout the entire scheme.

Our ideal graduate will be a naturally inquisitive, innovative and creative thinker, who takes both an ‘outside the box’ yet logical approach to problem solving. You will be highly analytical and be process driven, coupled with a genuine love for data and systems analysis. IT skills are essential, whilst CAD modelling experience is highly desirable.

Flexibility, passion and a positive attitude are also fundamental, as whilst this position falls in line with core office hours’ flexibility to work shifts will be required to fall in line with our production shift patterns.

Technical Development

Tea and coffee sit at the heart of our business, as is our commitment to ensuring both our technical specifications and supply chain processes are as sustainable and of the highest quality possible. This is something that sets us apart in business, and we are therefore excited to be offering a Graduate the opportunity to join the Sourcing team, to develop their understanding and work towards establishing a career in a dynamic and ever-changing field.

This will be a unique and hybrid role that will work across the entire sourcing function, covering placements within our tea, coffee, technical and sustainability teams with a core focus theme in the areas of risk and governance.

Our ideal graduate will be passionate about food science, agronomy or agriculture and will be a forward thinker considering the longer term effects and impact of everything they do. You will be naturally inquisitive, not afraid to challenge and have a high level of attention to detail. Flexibility, positivity and adaptability are fundamental to this role, as is a genuine care and passion for the sustainability of the environment.

As our supply chain operations are on a global scale, flexibility to travel may form part of this role although will not be on a regular basis.

Who we are looking for…

The right candidates for our graduate scheme will be positive, confident and self motivated and able to be flexible in line with the needs of the business. You will possess high levels of attention to detail and be able to work confidently both as part of a team and individually. The ability to identify problems and work with others to find solutions will also be required, coupled with the drive energy and enthusiasm to develop within a Food / FMCG manufacturing environment.

You will also need to: –

  • Have or be expecting to receive a minimum 2:2 Undergraduate Degree or above (in any of the above relevant disciplines), although a 2:1 would be highly preferable
  • Have GSCE (or equivalent) qualifications in English, Mathematics and Science at Grade C or above
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
  • Be available to attend an Assessment Centre on 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th July 2016
  • Be available for a start date of 5th September 2016
