Rimla Akhtar MBE
Rimla Akhtar is a Chartered Accountant who started her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers. She co-founded the global Muslim Women in Sport Network and became the first Muslim and Asian woman on the Football Association (FA) Council, in addition to her role on the FA Inclusion Advisory Board. In 2015 she was awarded an MBE for her contribution to equality and diversity in sport.
She is Chair of the FA National Game Finance Committee and a member of the FA National Game Board, overseeing the strategy and finances for the entire National League System and grassroots game.
Rimla also holds a number of additional non-executive roles across business and sport including at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, the Rugby Football League and the Sports Ground Safety Authority.
